Chicago Metal Rolled Products (CMRP) was founded in 1908, right here in Chicago, and remains family-owned and operated, with the same commitment to craftsmanship and precision that has defined the company since the beginning. Today, CMRP's Chicago shop houses over 60+ machines operating every single day, making it one of the most comprehensively equipped steel bending and rolling operations in the country.
Over the decades, CMRP has been fortunate to contribute to some of the most iconic and award-winning projects across the nation. Right here in Chicago, its work can be seen at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park and the landmark bridge connecting it to the Art Institute. Beyond Illinois, CMRP's portfolio includes The Sphere in Las Vegas, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Domino Sugar Refinery revitalization in New York, the Google Bayview Headquarters in California, Nashville International Airport, the MGM National Harbor Casino in Maryland, the Norwegian Cruise Terminal in Miami, and many other significant projects both large and small. Each project reflects the precision and versatility that over a century of experience makes possible.
Beyond its project work, CMRP is also heavily involved with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and played an instrumental role in the development of AISC Design Guide 33, the structural steel industry's definitive reference on bending and rolling design. The team's direct contributions to that guide reflect CMRP's dedication not only to the quality of its own work, but to elevating the standard of knowledge and practice across the industry.
CMRP will also be hosting a webinar with the YEC on Thursday, October 1. Attendance at the webinar is not required for shop tour participants, though members are encouraged to attend both events.
