The Hudson’s site development is located on the iconic 2.1-acre Hudson’s site in downtown Detroit. The site was formerly home to Hudson’s, Detroit’s premier department store that was demolished in 1998. The new development will house 1 million sq ft of residential, entertainment, cultural, office, retail, and hotel spaces as well as 700+ space underground parking structure. In total, the development is comprised of three distinct structures- the Block, the Tower, and the Plaza- each with distinct structural programs.

Suzanne Provanzana is a Principal and the U.S. Structures Discipline Lead at Buro Happold. She is currently leading a variety of large and small projects across the commercial, hospitality, and technology sectors and is working both domestically and internationally. Her portfolio includes structurally complex developments such as theaters and entertainment venues, commercial towers, academic institutions, and major transportation infrastructure. Committed to advancing the local AEC community, Suzanne serves on the Executive Committee of the Chicago Chapter of Council on Vertical Urbanism (formerly CTBUH) and the Sustainable Design Committee of SEAOI.
