Description

Allegiant Stadium: Accelerated Structural Design and Delivery The Allegiant stadium is to date the fastest NFL stadium to be designed and constructed with a total duration of 42 months. The stadium has a base capacity of 65,000 seats with potential expansion to 72,000 seats meeting the seating requirements of the Superbowl. The Stadium was completed on time and budget and was handed over to the Las Vegas Raiders on July 31, 2020. The structure comprises five distinct components: (1) the oculus-shaped cable truss roof, (2) the cantilevered steel structure creating the stadium roof and perimeter (“vessel”), (3) the reinforced concrete plinth structure which provides support to the (4) precast seating bowl and the (5) steel-concrete composite movable field tray. This presentation will discuss the unique structural aspects of the project, the analysis and design process and the custom workflows developed that enabled this rapid schedule. 1 CE credit
