April 12, 2021 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Join the YEC for a FREE street level site visit of Salesforce Tower and Union Station Tower. The tour will be led by design representatives of Magnusson Klemencic Associates and will discuss the main structural features of each building. Up to 20 people may register for this event.

Salesforce Tower - About the Project:

Salesforce Tower Chicago will be the newest addition to the Chicago skyline. Located on the Wolf Point site at the confluence of the Chicago River and the North & South Branches, the 850’ office tower by Pelli Clarke Pelli and Hines will provide an eloquent landmark at a prominent location in the city. The design and construction of this 60-story office tower showcases numerous design challenges that will be discussed on site.

Union Station Tower - About the Project:

Chicago Union Station Tower is a new 51 story office building by Goettsch Partners that directly connects to Union Station via an underground pedway. This structure is the first in the US to use 80ksi high strength structural steel shapes.  All of the perimeter building columns transfer down to six mega columns through V-shaped sloping columns and a three-level transfer truss creating an open and distinctive atrium space.
