We are currently searching for a Structural Engineer to
perform structural engineering work and analysis on various
highway bridge projects. The position is located at our
Chicago Corporate Office. Major responsibilities are as
follows:
Participate in the collection and analysis of data for
structural design projects. Prepare design plans and
specifications. Provide direction to CAD drafting personnel
pertaining to the preparation of design drawings and
specifications. Conduct site inspections and investigative
analysis toward completion of assigned design tasks. Perform
structural design calculations. Perform quantity
calculations including bills of materials, and summaries of
quantities. Prepare structural element details. Check
calculations and drawings. Organize and schedule specific
tasks and assignments. Evaluate, develop, and design highway
bridge components utilizing various construction materials
(i.e. steel, prestressed and reinforced concrete, masonry).
Prepare highway structures related cost estimates, plans,
and reports. Prepare permit applications for structural
transportation projects. Maintain project documentation,
calculations, filings, etc.
Requirements:

problem solving skills are essential. This person is

of Science in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of
related structural experience is required. PE license is
required, SE license is a plus. Must have experience working
on IDOT bridge studies and design projects. Proficiency with
Microstation and structural analysis and design software is
essential.
