- Licensed Illinois Structural Engineer required.
- 10+ years civil engineering experience
- 5+ years experience in bridge design and contract
plan development including
- IDOT “advanced typical” structures. Advanced Typical
structures include those with curved girders, flared
girders, “irregular” continuous multiple span bridges,
and tall retaining walls. Railroad bridge experience a
plus.
- Graduate from an accredited college or university
with a Bachelor of Science degree
- Masters degree preferred.
- Strong Project management experience

| Job Description |
SEC Group, Inc. (SEC) is seeking a Senior Structural
Engineer (SSE) who will be responsible for the preparation
of structural engineering plans and related documents and
coordinating work effort with other SEC Market Sectors as
well as the clients. The SSE is able to complete projects
independently (with little direction) and
supervise/coordinate the activity of other engineers on
their projects. The SSE is expected to lead and work with
project teams and individual engineers to ensure projects
are completed within allotted schedules and budgets.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitate proactive QA/QC reviews and verify that
QA/QC in the proper format is filed as required.
- Communicate with client representatives, review
agencies, and others as appropriate to project.
Coordinate final design computations with review
agencies. Prepare final cost estimates.
- Market SEC’s capabilities within the structural
engineering specialty to establish new clients and
enhance relationships with existing clients.
- Actively seek ways to grow the business.
