Experience Required Registration as a P.E, and desirably as S.E., is required. The candidate should have significant professional experience in structural analysis and design, current knowledge of both analysis theory and use of contemporary structural analysis and design software, and demonstrated skills in effective teaching.
Job Description NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY is seeking to hire an experienced professional engineer as a clinical professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, specializing in structural analysis and design. The position is full-time and untenured with the expectation of a multi-year appointment. The clinical professor would teach 3 courses annually in structural engineering and design, work closely with Northwestern's emerging program in Architectural Engineering and Design, and provide general support in structural engineering to students and faculty. In addition, the clinical professor would work with Northwestern's Infrastructure Technology Institute (ITI) to conduct structural analyses of civil infrastructure systems in support of ITI's work in non-destructive evaluation of major highway infrastructure elements, particularly bridges.
