FEATURE NEWS - PLEASE READ
STRUCTURAL WORK ACT LEGISLATION
On April 8th, 2008, the Illinois legislature introduced legislation to re-enact the Structural Work Act (SWA). If approved the SWA would allow injured workers to recover damages from contractors other than their direct employers. SEAOI, along with a number of other engineering and architectural organizations, opposes the Structural Work Act because of the liability it would impose on design professionals. Please contact your state representative here and let them know you oppose the re-enactment of the Structural Work Act (HB2094, A1). Click here to read more about it. Click here to take action.
