About the Speaker
Jeffrey Callow joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2001, working on a number of large, complex projects. He is an exceptional team builder, mentor to our staff, and client focused. His structural engineering experience includes various new design construction projects and studies, including projects within the commercial, residential and sports facility sectors. Some of his more notable projects include the design and construction administration for The New York Times Building in New York, NY and the Palazzo Lombardia in Milan, Italy. More recently, Jeffrey served as project manager for the design and construction of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he led a team of roughly 15 engineers and coordinated efforts between various offices. He is currently involved in the development of the Hudson Yards site in New York, NY, which includes several high-rise commercial and residential structures and a retail podium sitting above a platform structure spanning the existing rail yards.
In 2013, Jeff was named one of Engineering News-Record’s Top 20 under 40 professionals for the New York region. He is an active member of the Lean Construction Institute’s New York Community of Practice, which promotes efficiency in the design and construction process in an effort to minimize waste and maximize performance. He also often speaks at area universities and professional organizations about the evolving role 3D modeling technologies play in integrating design and construction. Jeff earned a bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering in 2001 from Princeton University.
